Design is only design when it fits its context. A beautiful kitchen in the wrong place in a house is not a design, it’s a waste of money. At the beginning of the last century, Berlage was one of the architects who adhered to the principle of Gesammtkunstwerk: the ideal interplay of all the arts.
I always try to underscore that the design is only half of the success of the execution. In the end, you want to tickle more senses than vision alone.
